Traffic and diversions: Steddorfer Kreuz remains closed until November 15th!

The construction site on the Steddorfer Kreuz causes excitement! The remediation work on the B 4 between Jelmstorf and Bienenbüttel drag down, and the intersection remains closed until November 15, 2024. Originally, the opening was to be made earlier, but unexpected delays from management work and remaining work make a provisional reopening necessary.

The Celle-Uelzen Netz GmbH has relocated water pipes last week, and there are still numerous works: lane markings, the pull up shafts, the setting of borders and the production of castasphaltrums still have to be completed. This work depends heavily on the weather, which also delays the completion. Currently, road users can only drive from the direction of Steddorf to the B 4 towards Lüneburg, while all other driving relationships are blocked.

The diversions are clearly signposted: road users from Uelzen are led to Dahlenburg from the Seedorfer Kreuz via the L 252 and L 232 and from there via the B 216 to Lüneburg. If you come from Lüneburg, you have to drive from Melbeck via the L 233 to Ebstorf and then on the B 71 and finally to the B 4. The entire roadway renewal on the B 4 is expected to be completed in mid -December 2024.

The Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Traffic appeals to all road users to adhere to the signposted diversions. A switching to the municipal connection paths not designed for traffic could permanently damage them. In addition, the police are increasingly carrying out controls to ensure compliance with the closures. The residents of the diversion routes are asked for understanding for the inevitable disorders.
