Rugby for the youngest: Security and respect are in focus!
In a gripping initiative, the Stade Blayais Rugby has focused on investigating young players about the dangers of violence. Organized by Maëlys Virmaux, a development expert in the CDOs, the campaign was primarily aimed at the M14 group, the players between the ages of 13 and 14. Aurélie Boutevilain, the administrative director of the Rugby School, said: "We could not receive the entire Rugby school, and the younger ones probably didn't understand the topics". So the first event without adult companions took place, which made it easier for young people to speak openly.
Important rules of conduct
During this revealing session, essential rules of conduct were discussed. Although Rugby is known as a contact sport, it was made clear that there is a big difference between fair contact, a rough tacking situation and an aggressive act. Boutevilain was impressed by the knowledge of the young people, who were even familiar with the term "Kathhedral-Plaquage". The will to create a safe environment in the field and beyond that was clearly emphasized. Verbal, sexist and sexual violence were also addressed. To counteract this, the club has launched an ethics committee. "No misconduct is tolerated," emphasized the administrative director.
