Rugby derby: Dax and Mont-de-Marsan celebrate a historical revival!

A spectacular rugby event is imminent! On Saturday, November 16, the mostly expected derby between Us Dax and Stade Montois will be held in the Jean-Dauger Stadium in Bayonne. This decision that goes back to an idea by Benjamin Gufflet, the President of the USD, brings back memories of the last laying of the game in 1963. The preparations are in full swing and the anticipation is tangible!

The choice of time couldn't be better! At 4:30 p.m. the game will kick off, which enables fans to return to New Zealand at 9 p.m. to the big rugby match France. "One derby is always an event," says rugby expert Éric Bayle, who hopes that the number of spectators will surpass the expectations. Over 10,000 tickets have already been sold and the mood promises to become festive, similar to the previous events in Saint-Sébastien or Marseille.

Financial dimensions

But behind the festive facade there is also a financial aspect that cannot be ignored. The income from this event could be between 300,000 and 400,000 euros, which means a significant increase compared to a regular game in the Maurice Boyau Stadium. The rental price for the stadium in Bayonne is between 120,000 and 150,000 euros, but the USD is optimistic that the advantages will fary the costs.

The VIP partners are another key to success. Over 60 % of the tickets sold come from direct sales, while the rest were distributed to partners and subscribers. The USD has managed to win additional VIP partners who benefit from the improved institutions in Bayonne. The buvets provided by Aviron Bayonnais should also contribute to financial balance sheet, while the players should depart from the Daxer city administration on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. - although there are still ambiguities because the manager Jeff Dubois has different plans.
