Oldendorf, Deutschland - Oldendorf is again in competition mode. After a long break due to the pandemic, the LG Kreis Nord Stade, which was visited by many athletes and their families, recently took place. Not only the competition was held on this special day, but also the inauguration of a new protective grid for the disciplines of discus and hammer throw. This grille was generously enabled by a donation from the Volksbank Oldendorf community foundation, which was realized with the help of funds from the region's wind farm owners.
The 1st chairman of TuS Oldendorf, Matthias Tiedemann, welcomed the participants and took the opportunity to thank all helpers and supporters for their indispensable role both financially and in organizing the event. The joy of the new protective grille and the return to competitions was to be seen.

The athletes showed outstanding achievements that inspired the audience. Particularly noteworthy is Marla Fehse from the LG Kreis Nord Stade, who achieved a personal record of 36 meters in the ball throw. Joris Koppelmann from the M14 category also delivered with a throw of 31 meters. After a longer injury break, Milena Maaß (WU20) returned and pushed the ball to exactly 8 meters, while she threw the disc into 22.86 meters. Anne Heinsohn from Oldendorf celebrated another remarkable comeback, who shone after a two -year competition break with a discus width of 26.58 meters and a hammer throw to 27.45 meters.
her mother, Kirsten Heinsohn (W55), who acted as an organizer, was pleased that the competition could be carried out successfully and achieved a respectable width of 26.27 meters in the hammer throw. Rüdiger Hülsmann (M65) from VfL Horneburg used the last opportunity of the year to demonstrate his performance in the shot put with 10.82 meters and in the discus throw with 30.13 meters and in the hammer throw with 34.57 meters. Rüdiger Möhring (M60) from TSG Bergedorf achieved the longest hammer throw of the day, which narrowly missed the 50-meter brand at 49.96 meters.
The event was not only a competition, but also an opportunity for the athletes to present their progress and gain valuable experience. The return of such events are desired by the community, since it not only promotes sport, but also strengthens cohesion within the community. The new protective grille is another step to improve the sports facilities and shows the commitment of the community foundation for sport.
