District. This coming Saturday, the Wunstorfer AUHALLE will be the setting for a gripping regional league derby! HSG Schaumburg Nord meets the MTV Grossenheidorn and the tension is tangible. After a disappointing defeat in the last derby, which ended with 28:36, the Schaumburgers are determined to score this time. However, the signs are not optimal, because the HSG comes into the game after two lost games without a tailwind.

HSG coach Florian Marotzke, who denies his first derby, remains realistic: "We are blatant outsiders, but the boys are totally hot and absolutely want to win." Despite injury problems, including a cruciate ligament rupture by Andreas Lüer, the motivation is unbroken. Marotzke knows that there are a few tactical challenges against the experienced trainer Stephan Lux and his team. "It will be a very tactical game, but we may also have one or two surprises in the quiver," says Marotzke.

Statistical hurdles

Statistics speaks a clear language: HSG Schaumburg has not stood in front of the MTV in the table since the 2016/17 season. In the fabulous 2017/18 season, they only lost four games, two of them against the MTV, who secured the title. The last victory of the HSG against Grossenheidorn was over four years ago - a 36:33 on October 5, 2019. But the struggle for the two points is of great importance for the Schaumburgers, and the anticipation for the derby could heal the wounds of the last defeats.
