Home win for HSG Schaumburg: Spectacular catch -up against Varel!

In the Waltringhausen, the first home win for HSG Schaumburg was achieved in handball. The team competed against the leaders HSG Varel, who was up to this point in time without loss of points. With an impressive second half, Schaumburg secured the victory with 35:32. Coach Florian Marotzke proudly commented on the performance of his players and described the success as "the reward for the hard work of the past few weeks".

The initial phase of the game was characterized by a constant change between the two teams. While Lukas Kalafut von Varel scored the first goal, Schaumburg was able to briefly take the lead through Daniel Bruns and Haakon Wiebe. Despite a disciplined way of playing, the team had to accept some breakthroughs from the guests, which the coaches did not discourage. Marotzke partly attributed this to an excellent goalkeeper from Daniel Hoffmann, who showed decisive parades and was called "guarantee for victory".

It was particularly noteworthy that the Schaumburger came out of the cabin with a strong 6-0 run and thus took the lead early in the second half, which they no longer delivered until the end of the game. "This is something we discussed at half -time," said Marotzke. Despite a small weakness in the final phase, his team kept his nerve and took the lead over time. The trainer emphasized the importance of victory, since Varel had so far been an unbeaten team.

Another key moment was the decisive ball win from Julius Hinz, which was substituted shortly before the end of the game. With an important steal and his sixth goal, he made a decisive contribution to the final round. "He has an extremely uncomfortable defense game for the opponent, always clever," said Marotzke about Hinz.

The feature film shows the tensions of the game: from a 2: 2 to 12:15 for Varel to the final score of 35:32. The performance of the HSG Schaumburg was enthusiastically received by the fans, who also celebrated the team after the game.
