Training market in Schaumburg: decline in applications and jobs!

District of Schaumburg is the focus of an exciting training market! The latest figures from the employment agency show that there are more free training positions as applicants - a clear call to all young people looking for a career! In the period from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024, only 843 young people reported as applicants. That is 86 less than in the previous year - a decline of 9.3 percent. At the same time, the number of training positions on offer fell to 953, which corresponds to a minus of 9.1 percent. What does that mean for the young people? A great chance!

Despite the falling numbers, there is light at the end of the tunnel: 41 training seekers are without an apprenticeship as of September 30th-that is nine less than in the previous year! The training companies left 18 positions vacant, four more than last year. This means that more than one training position is theoretically available for every young person seeking training. Henrik Steen, Vice-President of the Agency Hameln, emphasizes that the opportunities for applicants are "excellent", while at the same time the challenges to connect the right candidates with the companies are not smaller.

The most popular professions and offers

The most popular apprenticeships in the Weserbergland are clear: sellers, car mechatronics and merchant for office management list the list. Overall, 2357 young people for apprenticeships were registered in the entire agency district of Hameln, which also includes the Hameln-Pyrmont and Holzminden districts, while 2508 apprenticeships were available. On September 30, 68 jobs were still open and 90 applicants were unused. The companies offer numerous apprenticeships, with most of the people for retailers, sellers and medical assistants.
