Season closing ceremony: SV Wehen Wiesbaden turns game at the last minute!

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, 19 children, accompanied by three coaches and a committed parent, went on a trip to Wiesbaden, the capital of Hesse. This day trip was the crowning glory of the 2023/2024 season for the ex-E1 youth team and led the team to the exciting third division game between SV Wehen Wiesbaden and VfL Osnabrück.

After a train ride with the RMV, which only increased the anticipation of the young athletes, arrived in Wiesbaden, the participants strengthened themselves with the classic "stadium-work" and fries. These culinary delights contributed to the mood, although the game initially offered little action. SV Wehen Wiesbaden was unfortunate in the first half with 0: 1 behind, which caused some concerned looks among the young fans.

exciting course of the game

The break offered the opportunity for a departure. Fired by the girls and boys of the ex-E1 youth, SV Wehen found Wiesbaden back to its shape after half-time. The motivating support from the children seems to have worked peacefully in the minds of the players, because the team fought back into the game. Ultimately, they were able to celebrate a deserved victory with a final score of 2-1. The cheers of the young and old could hardly be broken - the joy of the game won was tangible.

After the game, the group started back and arrived at the Niederbrecher Hauptbahnhof again at 5:30 p.m. There they were welcomed by the waiting parents with timpani and trumpets, which marked a happy end to the day. Despite the initial setback in the first half, the excursion was a complete success overall.

A very special day for the ex-E1 youth, which was not only characterized by the exciting football game, but also by the interaction and team spirit. With beautiful, mostly sunshine, it was an experience for everyone involved that will be remembered well. And best of all: there were no injuries and no significant losses - there are hardly any more cordial degrees!
