Traffic chaos in Oldenburg: Three large construction sites provide detours!

Oldenburg, Deutschland - Oldenburg. In Oldenburg's city south there are significant road construction projects that are implemented in a large series. After the release of Bremer Straße, which is planned on October 24th, the renovation of the Müllersweg/Bremer Heerstrasse intersection continues. Jan Bernath, head of the civil engineering department, confirms that these projects are closely coordinated. However, weather conditions could play an important role, as he emphasizes: "We very much hope that the weather will not be able to strain us."

The Bremer Straße is opened again for traffic after the extensive sewer construction work, which was carried out by the Oldenburg-Ostfriesian Water Association. Work on the three -layer asphalt installation has already started in part. Marking work is planned for the week after October 24th, whereby the traffic should probably roll again at lunchtime.

Müllersweg/Bremer Heerstraße and the urgency of the renovation

The condition of the busy intersection Müllersweg/Bremer Heerstraße has worsened significantly due to high -frequency traffic, especially through heavy goods traffic. A comprehensive asphalt renovation will therefore begin on the evening of October 24th. The damage is particularly serious in the corner areas, where the potholes that occurred after the last winter are no longer remedied. For these necessary measures, unscheduled funds of 870,000 euros are available, which have already been approved by the Council.

The renovation work on the road is to be completed quickly within a few nights. Bernath states that the new asphalt layers are expected to hold for the next ten to fifteen years. The ongoing anticipation for an improved traffic situation is shared by the upcoming construction measures in the area of Holler Landstrasse, which will also be blocked in the period from October 25th to 28th.

The diversions for traffic were designed in such a way that they cause as few disorders in city traffic as possible. In particular, drivers who come from the Oldenburg-Hallen motorway must adapt their routes. There are also considerable restrictions for pedestrians and cyclists.

After the renovation of the potato, the long -awaited expansion of the sand path is also to follow next year. The upcoming partial expansion is scheduled to begin this autumn, while the overall measure is approached in spring 2025.

In addition, the confluence of Schützenhofstrasse remains closed until around mid -November. This work is part of the comprehensive construction work, which is intended to improve security for weaker road users. The channel construction work carried out are a central aspect, especially for adapting to the challenges of climate change.

The city of Oldenburg and the OowV have established close cooperation in these growing projects in order to advance both urban and environmental protection goals. The total investments amount to around 1.7 million euros, with the OowV and the city of Oldenburg being the main bearers of the costs. The optimized conditions on the intersections and streets not only lead to higher traffic safety, but also to an improved urban development.
