Traffic chaos threatens: Double closure in Oldenburg from October 25th!

The traffic situation in Oldenburg faces a special challenge: the blocking of the Holler Landstrasse, which was originally planned for October 18, was postponed and now falls together with the renovation of the Müllerweg/Bremer Heerstrasse intersection. These simultaneous measures require patience and willingness to bypass the blocked sections.

As the federal government explains the Autobahn GmbH, the delay at the Holler Landstrasse lies on a defect in a device of the commissioned construction company. This technical deficiency has led to delays in the reinforcement work, which in turn made the planned concrete layer and the reduction of the supporting mat impossible. The new blocking period will now continue from Friday, October 25th, at 6 p.m. to Monday, October 28th, at 5 a.m.

renovation work at the intersection

At the same time, the city of Oldenburg is urgently needed from October 24 to 28 October at the Müllersweg/Bremer Heerstrasse intersection. This construction measure focuses on the asphalt renovation, since the condition of the streets has suffered significantly in the past few months due to the strong stress, especially due to heavy goods traffic. Large potholes were created, especially in corner areas, which could get worse in winter. For this reason, the city council has decided to prefer the renovation measures and provided 870,000 euros in funds.

"We expect the new asphalt coverings to last for the next ten to 15 years," said Jan Bernath, head of the civil engineering department. The complete renovation should be completed in four nights and three days, so that the streets can be accessed again in time for the new working week.

diversions and traffic flow

The asphalt renovation at the intersection requires that the Holler Landstrasse in the area of the Oldenburg-Hall junction is completely blocked. While the residents are not affected, the A29 rides and departures remain open at this junction. Drivers on Holler Landstrasse had to be diverted via Bremer Straße and Dorfstraße to the junction to get to Oldenburg.

For road users from Wüsting, who want to go to the northeastern city area of Oldenburg, it is advisable to use the A29 motorway towards Wilhelmshaven and to turn on the L865 at the Ol-Ohmstede junction. Within the city, traffic is also led over a number of side streets to bypass the construction sites.

Especially pedestrians and cyclists have to adapt to fully blocked areas. Dead lines are signposted accordingly in order to be able to navigate through the city as safe as possible.

The combination of these two major construction projects will significantly burden the traffic situation in Oldenburg in the coming days. Drivers should be prepared to plan additional travel time and use alternative routes.

For more information on the current traffic situation and the many diversions during this block, it is advisable to pursue official communications from the city of Oldenburg and Autobahn GmbH. The necessary diversions and any developments that may arise are reported regularly to keep the citizens up to date.
