Leaving obligation: This is how residents dispose of and avoid trouble!

Eutin. The autumn time not only brings gold leaves, but also a lot of leaves that have to remove the residents in front of their property. In many cities and municipalities, citizens have to remove the leaves themselves, as the street cleaning statutes prescribe this. But be careful: just sweep onto the street? That is forbidden! The city of Neustadt warns that this can lead to clogged gullies, and also the mechanical street cleaning in Eutin disturbed fallen leaves.

So where with all the leaves? In your own garden it offers a perfect retreat for the highly endangered hedgehogs. If you want to get rid of your leaves, you can take them to the local building yard. In Neustadt, a greenery collection point in Lieschenrader Weg is available until November 30th, where the handing of leaves is possible for a small fee.

BauHöfe accept the leaves

In Stockelsdorf, the arcade disposal is even offered free of charge. Until November 16, the building yard is open on certain days to accept the foliage. The municipality of Malente also set up a special date on November 16. Here the citizens have to bring their leaves in their own sacks and can hand in for a small fee. In Bad Schwartau, 174 leaf collection containers, which are already well filled, have recently been filled, especially on Hamburger Straße/Berliner Strasse.

But not everywhere it runs so smoothly! Oldenburg has hired its leaf service because the city can no longer manage the costs. Again and again it was found in the leaf bags of other garbage, which made disposal even more difficult. Other rules apply to private vacation: it can be thrown into the biotonone or brought to recycling yards, where fees are incurred.

chestnut leaves must be burned

Particularly important: Chestnut vacation belongs in the residual waste bin! It is affected by the minier moth and must be burned to prevent the spread of these pests. The burning of other loud people has no longer been permitted in Schleswig-Holstein since 2021, except under special conditions on their own property. So if you plan to throw the leaves into your own fireplace, you should find out well beforehand!
