Horrific animal cruelty in the Elsfleth slaughterhouse: public prosecutor investigates!

The animal rights organization ANINOVA has brought to light a cruel picture of horror! A fortnight ago, shocking video footage was released at a slaughterhouse in Elsfleth, Lower Saxony, showing animals being subjected to massive torture. The footage reveals an unbelievable massacre in which sheep and cattle were treated with electric prods up to 160 times and were even kicked and beaten. “It is a massacre that was carried out on the animals there,” shocked Jan Peifer, CEO of ANINOVA.

Sit down, because the depths that are revealed here are unheard of! The animals were not only treated brutally during herding, but catastrophic wrong decisions also occurred when stunning them. Sheep and cattle resisted to the end and showed signs of life while the animals had their throats cut. “I have rarely seen such brutal treatment of animals,” says Peifer. The recordings also show how even the official veterinarian looks away from this gruesome scene and does not intervene.

Investigations by the public prosecutor are ongoing!

The outrageous revelations quickly led to the closure of the slaughterhouse by authorities, who responded immediately after ANINOVA informed the veterinary office. “The slaughterhouse is still closed today and that’s a good thing,” explains Peifer. Thanks to a criminal complaint, the Oldenburg public prosecutor's office has now initiated an investigation (AZ 1106 Js 74112/24). "Animal cruelty must not go unpunished; we demand the highest punishment for those responsible!" the ANINOVA board insists on justice.

The images also document the frightening conditions when the animals were delivered. They were often left alone in a panic, got stuck and injured themselves. “We can no longer watch how the animals are treated without a shred of compassion,” Peifer continues indignantly. The cruel practices must finally be made public – for the innocent who suffer!
