Bird train in the Leine Polder: Nature lovers discover feathered guests!

Autumn has a firm grip on Einbeck. While the leaves on the trees shine in bright colors and a dense fog pulls over the Leine Polder, the spectacular time of bird train begins. Every year, millions of birds go on a trip to their winter quarters. The feathered guests are not only on the run from the cold, but also look for food and quiet rest areas during their long journey. The EU bird protection area between Salzderhelden and Northeim plays a central role in this and is a popular stopover for many species of birds.

to offer nature lovers the opportunity to experience the fascinating migratory birds up close, the natural scouts invite you to regular guided tours. These events have established themselves as a popular point of contact for animal lovers who want to enjoy the bird world in all its splendor. The first tour of this season will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. Interested parties meet at the information board opposite the sports field of the Northeim town of Hollenstedt, where there are also parking facilities.

Details on the tours

The participants are taken on a two -hour journey of discovery through the bird sanctuary. It is recommended in advance to bring your own binoculars with you so that everyone can better observe the birds. A pre -registration is not necessary, which makes it particularly uncomplicated to participate spontaneously and to be inspired by the nature experiences.

The natural scouts not only offer a tour on October 20, but additional appointments are planned: on November 3 at 2 p.m., on November 10th at 10 a.m. and on November 24th at 2 p.m., other interested parties can pay a visit to the migratory birds. In addition, individual group trips are possible by appointment. Further information on these events can be found directly on the website of the natural scouts, www.napors-leinetal.de .

The EU bird protection area not only represents a retreat for the wandering birds, but also opens up close ties to domestic nature. The work of the natural scouts is probably an excellent example of how education and nature experience can be combined in order to raise awareness of the importance of animal hikes and the protection of habitats. An experience for young and old that reflects the beauty of nature in its full diversity.

For the citizens of Einbeck and the surrounding area, there is a wonderful opportunity to discover the autumn bird train with the natural scouts and to attract new perspectives on the domestic flora and fauna.
