Roman action on the Harzhorn: Adventure for children during the autumn holidays!

On October 16, 2024, children from the age of six awaits an exciting experience on the Harzhorn. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. it is important to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the Romans. At this event, the small participants asked the question of how the Romans mastered their long marches through the rough landscape of Germann.

It becomes particularly interesting when the children discover which foods the Romans consumed on their travels and how they transported their supplies. Were there enough craftsmen, doctors and engineers who accompanied the trip? And what preparations were necessary to cover hundreds of kilometers with a large group of people as well as animals and cars? These and many other questions are answered in an exciting way.

become active and have fun

The boys and girls are not only allowed to watch, they can help themselves. A highlight of the day will be the construction of a Roman camp, including ramparts, trenches and tent construction. In addition, the participants have the opportunity to grind grain with a field mill. Of course, the whole thing is not only instructive, it is also great fun. Another highlight will be the training in the famous turtle position, a defense technique used by the Roman soldiers.

As the crowning end of the day, the children prepare Roman dishes and drinks. Of course, what is prepared is then tasted together - an experience for all the senses!
