Restart in Northeim: Mattress production blooms after Breckle's bankruptcy!
Restart in Northeim: Mattress production blooms after Breckle's bankruptcy!
In Northeim, a new chapter in mattress production is opened! The Warburg-based company Bönning and Sommer took over the systems of insolvent Lapur GmbH and brings a breath of fresh air to the former Breckle site. The production of block foam has already started and the company is planning to move the annual production of 300,000 mattresses that were previously manufactured in Warburg. Managing Director Tobias Sommer announced that foam production will slowly start under the name BS Foam GmbH.
But that's not all! The production of shape foam mattresses is also revived by the Easter or company Lander's Polyurethan Technologies (LPT). These mattresses are manufactured according to the proven lapur recipe, which now bears the name Northeim Classic. The covers come from Bönning and summer, as there is no sewing eggs after the Breckle bankruptcy in Northeim. LPT managing director Rüdiger Landers emphasizes that shape foam mattresses are a small but fine segment in the mattress market and are not among the cheap products.
reopening of the factory sale
Another highlight: LPT has reopened the factory sale! From now on, customers can acquire the new rhumetry mattresses and products from Bönning and Summer on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Landers also plans to set up a web shop and supply the trade with new recipes. "My interest is to bring new recipes to the market," he explains.
The foam production in Northeim will start with nine employees, but that's just the beginning! Further settings are in prospect of bringing production to full capacity. The machines still have to be repositioned and automated before the full production is reached. An exciting comeback for the mattress industry in Northeim!
