A new gastronomic chapter begins in the open-air museum in Neuhausen OB Eck: Svitlana Smolyak will take over the reins of the famous restaurant "Ochsen" from February 2025! The efficient Ukrainian, who already runs the "Golden Fox" in Worndorf, has big plans. "I always set great goals," she announces full of enthusiasm, while she outlines the ideas for the future menu, which should take the guests with them on an unforgettable journey through time.

The way to the new tenant was a remarkable: grew up in Ukraine, cooked and baked Smolyak in Greece before moving to Germany in 2009. Her culinary talent led her to take over the former “Sun” restaurant in Worndorf. "I am happy that I bought the Golden Fox," she emphasizes, proud of her success - despite the difficult beginnings. "The first year was really difficult for me, but for me there are no problems, there are only solutions."

A strong family network

In "Ochsen" Smolyak will not work alone. She receives support from her family, including her mother and brother, who work hand in hand every day to perfect the gastronomic experience. "I'm not a one-Woman show," emphasizes the entrepreneur, while speaks about her project, to train a young cook. The old Swabian traditions include their plans, with dishes such as acidic cars and cheese spaetzle, supported by recipes that she received from the village from a good friend.

But to realize your vision, investments are essential! "I still have to invest a lot," she explains and speaks of the need to get a professional coffee machine. "I know what to expect. It's a big step." Svitlana Smolyak is determined to breathe new life into the “ox” and to convey a feeling of home and tradition to guests. The countdown to the culinary adventure has started!
