Joko Winterscheidt: Therapy instead of fame - a encouragement for everyone!

Berlin. Joko Winterscheidt, the radiant star of the German TV world, opens up in a moving podcast about his inner fights and the decision to start therapy. For the 45-year-old, mental health is more important than fame and wealth!

The charming entertainer, known from formats like "Who steals the show?" But in the latest episode of "Deutschland3000" with Eva Schulz, he breaks his silence over the shadows of his past. "I felt empty inside," admits Joko when he tells of a vacation on a catamaran, surrounded by celebrating people while he was just staring at the sea. A moment of silence that made him face his deep -seated feelings.

The way to therapy

Joko's childhood was characterized by loss: his mother died of cancer when he was only six years old. "Of course it does something with you," he reflects in the podcast. For a long time he pushed up the processing of this trauma until it finally catched up with him. The turning point came in the summer of 2023 when he decided to seek help. Friends who were already in therapy gave him the crucial impetus: "How was that with you?"

The step to therapy was surprisingly uncomplicated for Joko. His environment had already found a therapist for him before he found the courage to ask for help. He has been working on himself for a year and a half and observes his behaviors. "I have lied to myself for years," he admits, encouraging others to take the step to self -help.

fame and money are not everything

The topic of fame is also addressed in his therapy sessions. Joko reflects whether he gets the affection he is looking for through the spotlight. Despite his success, he emphasizes that he was never concerned with money or attention. "If you are not doing well, money is the most important as a compensation for it," he explains. Joko Winterscheidt remains a person who is particularly addictive: happiness in what he does.
