Wanderlust in Höxter: 100 participants hike for a good cause!
Höxter (red). The hiking event "Wanderlust", organized by Ladies' Circle Höxter-Holzminden, was also very popular in its third edition. On September 28th at 9 a.m., the starting signal for over 100 participants, who went on the impressive 30-kilometer route around Höxter. A total of 2,423 euros were collected in donations that now benefit regional charity.
Julia Hodes, Vice President of the Club, describes the route as challenging, but scenic. She led past picturesque views over the Weserbergland and the Solling. The planning of the route was responsible for Katja Krajewski and Ansgar Steinnökel from the Society for Economic Development in the Höxter district. Shorter routes were also offered, including a 15-kilometer circuit and a 5-kilometer puzzle hike for children who gave knowledge of nature in a playful way.

The generous apple donation from the Wittrock company and the support of Rewe markets in Höxter and Holzminden provided the physical well-being of the hikers. There were pickers such as cereal bars and isotonic drinks. Sebastian Baensch and his son of Round Table Höxter-Holzminden took care of the output of the snacks at the catering station at the Bismarck Tower. After the effort, the participants in the Räuschenberg-Café were offered homemade cakes and coffee, prepared by master confectioner Andreas Otto. Thanks to the fitness and health studio Solavida, the participants also received practical ribbons.
The feedback among the participants was consistently positive. Many not only came to this special event for the third time. "There is no comparable event in Höxter, and we are extremely proud that wanderlust is so well received," says Tanja Baensch, President of the Ladies' Circle Höxter-Holzminden. "We are particularly pleased about the considerable amount of donations that we could collect this year."
The participation in "Wanderlust" was free of charge, but donations were asked. The entire proceeds will be passed on to the Höxter Tisch e.V., the Holzmindener Tafel e.V. and the Beverunger Tisch e.V. With this initiative, the Ladies' Circle continues its commitment to the region, which began in 2017. "We would like to make sure that our region benefits from the collected donations," concludes Baensch.
