Kreis Holzminden. The changeover of school-collector-time maps (SSZK) to modern chip cards has also been delayed! The transport association South Lower Saxony had large plans to hand over the new chip cards to all authorized students in the VSN area from the school year 2024/2025. These should replace the previous paper maps of the price levels C, GÖ and PS 1. But what happened? Technical problems have made implementation impossible at the beginning of the school year!

The students concerned, who also have an SSZK Germany ticket from price level 2, had to be content with a replacement certificate, which was initially valid until October 2. But the desired edition of the chip cards before the autumn holidays remained unfulfilled. The transport association informed that the replacement certificate was now extended until October 31, but that was also only a short postponement. At the end of October it became clear that the chip cards will be long in coming due to technical challenges.

Replacement certificate valid until December 31

The new replacement certificates that are distributed in calendar week 45 are valid until December 31. "We are working hard to ensure that the edition will take place promptly and assume that we have provided the chip cards by the end of the year at the latest," said the South Lower Saxony Transport Association. The transport companies in the VSN are informed about the problem, and the replacement certificates are currently considered valid tickets.
