New springer pool: Rescue service in Lower Saxony fights against personnel shortage!

In the Lower Saxony area there is an interesting development in the emergency services, which now ensures relief. The Johanniter's new Springer Pool emergency services officially started today. This supports ten rescue guards in Lower Saxony, which suffer especially from personnel bottlenecks, with additional, newly hired staff. This happens in a short way, so that the rescue workers are quickly available if they are urgently needed.

The first new employees, including four emergency paramedics and a paramedic, started their familiarization in September. The challenge of the shortage of skilled workers in the emergency services in Lower Saxony is not new, but with this new concept, the Johanniter are taking an important step to improve the personnel Situation in your network. Especially unplanned failures due to diseases or maternity protection are major causes of the existing bottlenecks.

The jumping pool and its locations

The jumping pool will work in a large area between Schwarmstedt and Göttingen and will take care of life awakening in cities such as Einbeck, Garbsen, Hildesheim and Wunstorf. The employees must first familiarize themselves with the specific requirements from six counties in order to be able to act in good time and qualified in an emergency. This requires comprehensive familiarization, since each rescue service location places different requirements for supply and the medication used.

Emergency paramedics Can Yilmaz describes the variety of requirements: "In some municipalities, different medications may be used, this ranges from pain relievers to stronger narcotics. Every employee must have the knowledge in order to be able to react adequately in every situation." These highly qualified employees will not only be flexible, they also bring valuable knowledge and experience in the rescue guards.

A decisive advantage of the jumping pool is the offer of a privately usable company vehicle and a monthly allowance of at least 450 euros. The goal is to increase the attractiveness as an employer and to win more people for the emergency services. Torsten Bierbrauer, regional board for Lower Saxony Mitte, emphasizes that this innovative approach should help ensure the care of the population and at the same time keep highly qualified staff.

personal insights from the new employees

The first employees in the jumping pool bring a variety of motivations. Tobias Hinz, a 24-year-old emergency paramedic from Hildesheim, has decided to also study management in danger defense. Due to the new job, he can now spend more time at home and focus better on his studies. Fabian Thiele, 30 years old and a student of sound design, also expresses that the flexible duty rank design will help him better reconcile work and studies

Louis Weiß, 22 years old, already has close connections to the Johannitern, since he used to be active in the Johanniter youth on a voluntary basis. "Getting to know different rescue guards is a great way to gain experience and expand my skills," he notes. Carsten Hempel, who has been working in the emergency services for almost 40 years, leads a completely different motivation into the jumping pool. "I would like to have a change and contribute to the fact that the team is supported. It is still my passion to help people, and I'm looking forward to the new challenges," he explains.

The Johanniter -SpringerPool emergency services could become a model for other regions and sets new standards in the area of personnel recruitment and loyalty in the emergency services. This initiative shows the effort for innovative solutions in a sector that is increasingly under pressure.
