On November 12, 2024, the renowned Egyptologist Prof. Dr. Regine Schulz from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich give a gripping lecture. Under the title "Who was Ta-Chichu? From the Egyptian mummy to the human individual", she will reveal the mysterious history of an elegant Egyptian who lived in the 25th dynasty from 6:00 p.m.
Ta -chcheru, whose name means "the Syrian", lived in Thebes, the spiritual center of Egypt. She was over 60 years old and came from a wealthy family. Her mummy and the artistically designed coffins were discovered in the 18th century and finally came to the University of Aberdeen. The high quality mummification and the magnificent coffin reflect the wealth of your family, but the exact grave is still unknown. So what do we know about this mysterious woman? Only the name of her father, TJA-en-Waset, and the origin of her ancestors from Syria are known.

The research project in which TA-Chcheru was integrated produced exciting results! The mummy was examined with the latest holographic technology to demonstrate the possibilities of contemporary imaging methods in mummy research. Over 20 human mummies and numerous mummified animals were analyzed. The aim is to make these findings accessible to a wider audience and to promote interest in Egyptology.
The event in the Kelten-Römer Museum is free of charge, but the permanent exhibition remains closed on the lecture day. The foyer opens 20 minutes before the start of the lecture so that visitors can take a seat in time to immerse yourself in the exciting world of the old Egyptians.
