Men's club Barienrode: Men pack together for their village!

In a small village in Lower Saxony, a group of men stand up for the community. The men's club Barienrode has set itself the goal of not only being a place for social get -together, but also actively contributing to the beautification and care of the village. In a work assignment at the hiking cross on Saturday morning, it shows how serious the members take their project

With the happy exclamation "Gut Dachs", the members end their meeting before starting with their project. The hiking cross, a small but important part of their community history, was in a desolate state, and it seemed as if nobody had felt responsible for their care. This is exactly where the men's club has developed an important place in the community. They come from the village of Diekholzen in the Hildesheim district and together have taken the initiative to do something for their surroundings.

a common goal

The men's club was founded by Yannick Koppe at the end of 2022, who developed the idea in his garage together with friends. The requirements for membership are uncomplicated: you have to be close to the village community and be ready to make a contribution to the well -being of the place. This has already led to a considerable number of 30, among which there are also some places from neighboring places. Younger members who are under 21 are lovingly called "cheeky roofs", which underlines the community's community and humor.

The group of men is a colorful mix of different age groups, with the age range of 17 to 65 years. This diverse interaction helps everyone feel welcome. Lukas, a member, emphasizes that the community is much more alive here than in nearby cities. "There is always something going on here and the feeling of community is strong," he says.

project and commitment

The men's club has decided not to act as a registered association. This means less bureaucratic hurdles, which many of the members welcome. Nevertheless, they are committed to non -profit and are proud to bring about something for society. In Lower Saxony, almost half of all people from the age of 14 are volunteering, which not only benefits society, but also helps the community financially, since it is not taxed on donations and membership fees.

The club's ongoing projects include regular garbage collection campaigns and the maintenance of public places. The club has set itself the goal of freeing the bus shelter in the village of graffiti; The costs for the materials are covered by the local board by reimbursement. The men provide both the workforce and the equipment themselves, which further reaffirms their decision to actively work for their surroundings.

However, the members are aware that they may soon be able to open membership for women. An open conversation about this option is in the room. Now, however, you are committed to successfully completing your current projects. After hours of hard work on the hiking cross, in which the bed was properly prepared again, treat yourself to a well -deserved break with cool drinks - even alcohol -free. So the tradition of the men's club remains alive and shows that conviviality and commitment go hand in hand.
