Young craftsmen restore monastery wall in Helmstedt with pride!
Helmstedt. A historical monument shines in new splendor! The spectacular restoration of the monastery wall on Goethestrasse has now been completed, and the young craftsmen can be proud of their work.
The voluntary mobile operational group of the youth construction hut has not only restored the 80 -meter -long, listed wall, but also provided with fresh accents. "Three years have demonstrated their craftsmanship and successfully worked on this significant restoration," reports the Helmstedter local curator of the German Foundation for Monument Protection, Karl-Heinz Broska.

With professional guidance, the young people who are committed to monument protection as part of their voluntary social year, which have now collapsed with roof tiles in 2021. Mayor Wittich Schobert praises the excellent manual skills of the young craftsmen who left "proud traces" in their city. But that's not all: the group also hid a bottle with the names of the participants and a collection of newspapers and photos in the wall!This impressive project was realized thanks to the generous support of Eon-Avacon, the East Falen Citizens' Foundation and the Rotary Club. "Everyone involved can be proud of the supplied," emphasized Mayor Schobert and first city councilor Henning Konrad Otto. Helmstedt is thus a city that perfectly embodies the combination of tradition and modern manual skills.
