Breitenreiter Back in Hanover: re -infect climbing rooms!
Hannover 96 has changed a coaching change: André Breitenreiter takes over the helm of Stefan Leitl, who was released after 89 games and only one win in the last six games. The step came as a surprise, but is understandable because the team scored a total of 22 goals in the first half of the current season and ranked 14th in the league. Despite this balance sheet with 17 goals conceded the most stable defense against the 2nd Bundesliga.
The club is currently in seventh place with 27 points, just one point behind the direct promotion places. Breitenreiter, who trained Hannover 96 in 2017 and rose to the Bundesliga with the team, announced that the team should play more offensive and courageous. The aim is to score more goals and increase the danger of scoring from midfield.
Breitenreiter expectations of the team
Nicolò Tresoldi is the most successful scorer from Hannover 96. Breitenreiter sees great potential in the young player, but emphasizes that responsibility should not be on his shoulders alone. The experienced strikers Håvard Nielsen and Andreas Voglsammer convinced less this season; Nielsen scored 46 goals in 216 second division games, but only scored once this season, while Voglsammer scored 56 goals in 206 second division games, but was only successful in the current season. Breitenreiter expects these players more performance to relieve Tresoldi.
Sports director Marcus Mann expressed confidence in Breitenreiter's ability to successfully lead the team through the season. Breitenreiter himself emphasized his special connection to Hannover 96 and his conviction that a successful second half of the season is possible. The decision to discharge Leitl was made after 17 games in the current season because the team could not achieve the desired consistency.
The training will be resumed on January 2. The next matchday in the 2024/25 season is against Jahn Regensburg, who is currently taking the last place in the table, which will represent Breitenreiter's first test as the new coach of the association, as Bundesliga.com reported.
