New guidelines: Biotop projects for municipalities now available free of charge!
A groundbreaking step for biodiversity! The Heinz Sielmann Foundation has published an impressive 67-page brochure that marks the crowning glory of the biotope network project "Landscape + People-municipalities for the nationwide biotope network". This comprehensive collection of knowledge and experiences from over three years of intensive project work aims to promote the preservation and networking of biologically valuable habitats throughout Germany. The guide not only offers valuable information, but also a quick overview of financial support options and important contacts.
practical measures in three regions
The biotope network project, which is funded from September 2020 to July 2024 as part of the Federal Program Biological Diversity by the Federal Office for Nature Conservation (BFN), has developed innovative model projects for upgrading and networking biotopes in cooperation with three regional partners in Rügen, the county of Bentheim and the Ampertal in Bavaria. These practical measures not only contributed to the creation of new habitats, but also provided valuable knowledge that now form the basis for the recommendations for action of the guidelines.
practical solutions for all
Robert Spreter, managing director of the alliance "Municipalities for Biological Diversity", emphasizes the importance of the guide: "He provides numerous examples and solutions from practice that reduce and implement the inhibition threshold for municipalities, associations and committed private individuals." The guide is now available as a free download on the website of the biotope network project or can be ordered in printed form on request. An indispensable tool for everyone who is committed to protecting nature!
