Discover Bentheim's forest: free guidance with nature conservation rangers!

On Sunday, October 6th, nature lovers and interested parties draw it into the Bentheimer Hute and Schneitelwald. The Grafschaffer Nature Conservation ranger of the Nordhorn Zoo opens its doors for the last free leadership of this season, and the interest is great. This forest has a remarkable story and is one of the oldest forest areas in Germany. In the past, the areas to keep the pasture of cows, sheep and pigs served, today Galloway cattle and Dutch country goats are the main actors who ensure a healthy ecosystem here.

The approximately two -hour hike, which begins at 2:30 p.m. at the “Alte Försterei” parking lot, at Bade 6 in Bad Bentheim, offers the participants the opportunity to learn more about the historic forests and their animal residents. The rangers have exciting stories and knowledge about the flora and fauna of the area, so that the nature enthusiasts can immerse themselves in a world that is both instructive and eventful. A highlight of the leadership is the view of the animals that live in the forest and their role in nature conservation.

hidden treasures of the forest

Particular attention is paid to the Galloway cattle, which not only bribe with their peaceful being, but also take on an important function in nature conservation. These cattle are known for eating young trees and plants and thus regulating the undergrowth growth. In combination with the goats that cleverly eat through the thicket, the biodiversity of the forest is encouraged. This is how farm animals help to keep nature in balance, which is important for both the animal world and the plants.

For everyone who wants a deep insight into the miracles of nature, this event is a great opportunity. Participation in the tour is completely free, but a visit is at your own risk. This means that the organizers accept no liability, which gives the participants an additional incentive to behave responsibly and carefully.

Last but not least, the event is also shaped by the passion of the rangers, who are committed to raising awareness of the importance of nature conservation and sustainable use of forest resources. They convey knowledge that is important, not only for dealing with nature, but also for the preservation of animals that live in this unique habitat. Information on this and other programs is available on the website of the Nordhorn zoo: www.tierpark-nordhorn.de .

As a last note, interested parties should set off early, because the places are limited. The anticipation in this kind of nature life is not only a way to learn more about the wildlife, but also an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Bentheimer forest.
