Drag workshop in Goslar: Discover your identity on the coming-out day!
in Goslar on October 11th is under a special star: The international coming-out day is celebrated. AIDShilfe is in focus to draw attention to how important it is to be aware of its identity and not feel any reason to shame. Regardless of whether you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or HIV-positive-diversity is the motto.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Mönchehaus Museum and the Queeren Community. The day offers the participants two exciting opportunities to express themselves creatively and to experience support. A drag workshop is offered in the morning from 2 to 6 p.m. Under the guidance of the experienced drag artists Silver D. Sin and Tiffany D. Sin from Braunschweig, visitors can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of Drag.
workshop and evening event
The workshop not only shows the artistic aspects of drag culture, but also conveys knowledge about the history of this art form. The participants can learn how to apply drag make-up and what importance the self-expression is. "It's about playing with your own identity and discovering new perspectives," said AIDShilfe. If you want to be there, you should register in good time, as the places are limited and certain clothing and shoe sizes must also be specified. Further information on registration can be found on the AIDShilfe website.
The big evening event in the Kö begins at 7 p.m. and is under the motto: "And when did you notice that you are hetero?" Here visitors can expect an exciting lecture, followed by an exchange about sexual orientation and gender identity. The various queer groups have the opportunity to imagine and share their concerns. Afterwards an “open stage” will take place, followed by an exciting drag show and a party with DJ T.P.K.-Al, which ends the evening musically.
All events related to the international coming-out day are free and represent a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people and celebrate their own identity. These initiatives are supported by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth as part of the "Live democracy!" and the partnership for democracy in the Goslar district.
In order to learn more about the planned activities and the registration for the drag workshop and the open stage, interested parties can take a look at the AIDShilfe website. Such occasions make a significant contribution to making the diversity and the rights of LGBTQ+persons visible in society and promote respectful cooperation.
