Northeim: Training market is booming despite economic uncertainties!
Northeim, Deutschland - Northeim - The training market in the Northeim district blooms, despite the economic turbulence! The Göttingen Employment Agency published the latest figures and they are impressive: This year 932 training positions were offered - an increase of 59 compared to the previous year! This number shows that the companies in the region firmly believe in the training of future skilled workers.
The vacant training positions also decreased: at the end of September 2024, only 85 places were vacant, 32 less than in the previous year. This means that the companies and applicants get together better and the chances of a successful introduction to the professional world increase. But not all young people who are looking for an apprenticeship are lucky: 49 young people remain without an apprenticeship or alternative options.
growth in training qualifications
The positive development is also continued in the completed training contracts! In cooperation with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and the Chamber of Crafts (HWK), 380 contracts were concluded- four more than in the previous year. Especially in the commercial professions there is an increase to 160 contracts. The craft sector is also robust with 222 new training contracts, which is a slight increase. These figures prove the continuing need for artisanal and technically trained specialists!
Klaudia Silbermann, the head of the Göttingen Employment Agency, draws a positive conclusion: "Despite the durable economy, the training market has proven to be quite stable." The IHK and HWK are also increasingly relying on career orientation to win young people, especially with an escape and migration background, for the training. The companies in Northeim are investing in the future and showing that they will remain training companies even in difficult times - a decision that benefits from the young people but also to securing skilled workers in southern Lower Saxony!
