Farewell to old coffee: Max Remmert about the last sounds in Kassel!

Kassel, Deutschland - Time has come! Max Frederic Remmert and his band "Old Coffee" played their last show in Kassel on Saturday. The farewell to the stage is duly celebrated with two other concerts on November 1st and 2nd in Göttingen. "This will be a huge after party," promises the singer full of anticipation.

The band, which was launched in 2014 under the funny name "We bring cold coffee", developed from a fun force to a serious music group. Remmert, who has now worked as a research assistant at the University of Kassel, has recognized that his passion for school research has won over music. "In the Corona era I noticed that I have more fun working than the music," he admits. His bandmates, on the other hand, rely on a career as a full -time musician.

challenges of the music industry

The music industry is not child's play! Max Remmert describes the constant challenge of preserving his own relevance in the minds of people. "You always have to bring new products to the market," explains the artist. His critical words in a song, "the capital vomits me", document his ambivalent relationship with music. But despite all the challenges, he will be missing to share the stage with his friends. "It's a shame that I will spend less time with my friends."

The group had a change over the years: in 2017 "We bring cold coffee with us" and Remmert founded "Old Coffee" together with the former drummer Chris Lang. Over the years, Frederik Wiese joined the keyboard, Finn Maccormac on the bass and dejan touch on the drums. Remmert looks back: "If you are in a room with 100 to 200 people, all worries are forgotten for an hour." Despite the uncertainties and professional reorientation, music remains by his side in his life. Max Remmert will continue to be active as a piano and vocal replacement at Luksan Wunder, a comedy collective from Berlin.
