Warning strike in Gifhorn: IG Metall mobilizes employees at Conti!

Gifhorn. On Friday, November 8th, it will be hot in Gifhorn! The IG Metall calls on Continental employees to a warning strike in order to put the employers under pressure in the ongoing collective bargaining. From 12 noon to 2 p.m., the workers at the location on Alfred-Teves-Straße resign. The reason? Dissatisfaction with the previous offers of employers!

The warning strike begins with a powerful rally in front of the works gate, where the first authorized representative of IG Metall Wolfsburg, Flavio Benites, will spoke. Then the demonstration train moves through Gifhorn and causes a sensation on Braunschweiger Straße to the Eyßelheide sports field. IG Metall calls for a increase in wages of 7 percent and an increase in the training allowance by 170 euros. In contrast to this, employers only offer a measly 1.7 percent increase in pay from July 2025 and 1.9 percent from July 2026 - with a term of 27 months!

warning strike and demands

The IG Metall increases the pressure! Thorsten Gröger, district manager and negotiator, warns: "Now follow warning strikes for a few hours or early closing campaigns. The association side is well advised to recognize the warning signs. Our keyboard has other, rougher tones ready!" The situation comes to a head, and the employees show that they are ready to fight for their rights!
