Electricity and gas more expensive: Gifhorn's households have to pay more from January!

Gifhorn. From 1st January 2025 it will be really expensive for citizens in the Gifhorn district! The energy supplier LSW has announced that the prices for electricity and gas drastically increase. The reasons? Rising procurement costs and increased government taxes!

For an average household, the electricity price will increase by gross 1.37 cents per kilowatt hour, which leads to an additional monthly load of around four euros. And that's not all! Gas prices also attract: Here, customers have to expect gross 2.26 cents/kWh in basic care. With an annual consumption of 20,000 kilowatt hours, this adds up to a monthly increase of around 38 euros! The LSW explains that the price increases are due to the current developments at the energy market, in particular to the increase in the CO2 price and the increased network usage fees.
