Pumpkin and potato festival inspires families in Gifhorn near autumn sun!
Gifhorn. A radiant sky and golden October weather were enthusiastic about the first pumpkin and potato festival at the Mühlenmuseum! Over a thousand visitors flocked together to enjoy the colorful hustle and bustle. Farmer Martin Rautenberg proudly presented his impressive 1,000 pumpkins, which were converted in no time for the creepy Halloween festival-for only 5 euros each! Families took the opportunity to make their own pumpkin creatively and have fun carving.
With a lot of brightness and laughter, the little artists hiked to carve - the perfect leisure activity for a sunny day! Enthusiastic mothers such as Lisa from Düsseldorf and Anne from Braunschweig did everything possible to make their works of art ready for the creepy time in their own front yard. In addition to carving pumpkins, there were also potato stamps that the little ones made and tried with joy. The Strohburg ensured that no child was neglected and gave the attendees a lot of joy!

With an ongoing visitor flow, Lena-Sophie Laue from Ummern was also on site and was happy about the great encouragement. "Agriculture can show what it does. New products conquer the market - also potato chips from local farmers!" When the smell of freshly baked bread and seductive dishes pulled through the air, those present could not resist: from coffee and waffles to various cold drinks, everything was represented! Dr. Kifle Tondo from the Mühlenmuseum presented the exquisite Sheka Forest Coffee from Ethiopia and gave exciting insights into its preparation.
Thanks to a successful event, many new markets and festivals are also planned for the future! After the celebration, the Christmas market continues, which is waiting for visitors from November 29 to January 1, 2025. The mill museum and the brawo grill light promise an event that should not be missed!
