Together against loneliness: New project in Gifhorn starts!

Gifhorn. In a courageous step against growing loneliness in society Paul created the innovative project "Together instead of lonely". Supported by the Foundation Zeit: donations, this initiative aims to combine people of all ages and to combat the creeping loss of social contacts. "Loneliness is an increasing problem in society," said Detlef Tank, the chairman of the foundation. A strong signal that it is not just in political hands to solve this problem - the community is required!

With start-up financing of 2,250 euros this year and another 5,000 euros next year, the foundation would like to make a sustainable contribution to combating loneliness. "It shouldn't be a straw fire," emphasized Tank. The project is there for everyone - whether commuters who are isolated due to long working hours, widowed in mourning or children and adolescents who have lost the connection after the pandemic.

First, three exciting offers are provided: a cooking group, a group of stars and family afternoons. In the "Monday Cook" cooking group, participants can not only show their culinary skills, but also make new friendships. The star children group offers parents who mourn their deceased child urgently needed support. "Often nothing works without a calendar," complains Sabrina Mpousustkas from the family center, making it clear the loneliness that many families feel.

The kick-off event will take place on eternity Sunday, November 24th, at 10:45 a.m. in the family center, Brandweg 38, in Gifhorn.
