The August Desenz Barrel Organ Foundation hits the mark with a generous distribution of 33,900 euros! This happened as part of their second annual distribution, which was given to 35 clubs and non-profit organizations from Wilhelmshaven and Friesland. Despite a theft during the weekend at the Jade, in which foundation founder August Desenz lost the daily income from the barrel organ, the foundation was able to increase the amount thanks to the overwhelming support of over 16,000 euros in donations. Peter Kleinwächter from the foundation's board emphasized that numerous projects were presented that evening that now have the opportunity to be realized by the foundation. The initiatives supported include the Havenkirche, the Aldenburg Scout Tribe and many more, all of which presented their concerns in the Apostle John's Church.
Diversity of funding projects
With the funds provided, the foundation supports a wide range of projects—from dance floors and museum buses to cooking courses and insect hotels. A remarkable amount of 2,000 euros went to the Soldiers' Relief Fund, while the Christmas fundraiser for needy children received 7,000 euros, which was the largest single donation this year.
