Stat force is planning hydrogen stronghold: 200 megawatts in Emden!
An exciting chapter for hydrogen production in Germany takes shape! The Norwegian energy group Statkraft plans to build an impressive electrolysis system with an output of 200 megawatts in Emden. The EU has given the green light and is now asking for statement to start with negotiations on a promotion of up to 107 million euros. This could be the starting signal for the production of up to 20,000 tons of green hydrogen and 50,000 megawatt hours of climate -neutral warmth!
The ambitious plans include the installation of large heat pumps, which bring the waste heat of electrolysis to a level that is useful for district heating. A pilot electrolyser with ten megawatts is to be built this year. Stat force has already signed important agreements with potential customers for the green hydrogen. The hydrogen generated is distributed nationwide via the newly approved hydrogen kernel network, with an existing portfolio of renewable energies in Germany to ensure that electrolysis is fully utilized.
an important project for the future
"In Emden we open the first chapter of our ambitious hydrogen plans in Germany," says Helge-Jürgen Beil, Vice President Hydrogen at Statkrogen in Germany. According to the stat for stat, the system should not only be able to supply the local industry with green hydrogen, but also to supply petrol stations in the region with the urgently needed energy. In this way, Statkraft sets a crucial sign in the fight against climate change and is determined to become a central player in the German hydrogen market.
