Price increase in the Diepholzer indoor pool: citizens are outraged!

Diepholz, Deutschland - The prices for the indoor pool "Delfin" in Diepholz are drastically climbing! The Committee on Finance and Economy has decided with a narrow majority for the radical price increase, despite violent resistance from the SPD and the Greens. At a meeting in the town hall, which was visited by 22 concerned citizens, the decision was made to significantly raise the admission prices for the popular indoor pool. The CDU/FDP group prevailed and thus caused resentment among those present.

The indoor pool currently brings income of around 128,000 euros due to entry fees. The Stadtwerke Huntetal had put two variants for discussion: variant one provides for a moderate price increase of 14 to 33 percent, while variant two increases prices by 29 to 50 percent - and this has been chosen! The price for a day ticket for adults increases from six to eight euros, and youth prices also climb up one euro.

decision ensures displeasure

The decision was made with five votes from the CDU/FDP group against the three votes of the SPD and the Greens. The reactions in the audience were clear: dissatisfied murmur and even the departure of some citizens after the decision was announced by the disappointment about the drastic price increases. "We would have preferred a gentler adjustment," said Ingo Estermann from the SPD and demanded the implementation of the more moderate variant. But the committee agreed that an adjustment was necessary because the last price increase had been seven years ago.

In addition, suggestions for the cost optimization of the bathrooms were also discussed, but mostly rejected. Only the changeover to their own cleaning staff and the closure of the bath on the 2nd Christmas Day were approved. The discussion about the reduction of the health insurance staff in favor of a machine caused heated debates in which the SPD and the Greens spoke out against the loss of human services. The citizens of Diepholz are therefore faced with a challenging situation: higher admission prices and the uncertainty about the future of their baths.
