Restart in Groß Mackenstedt: Kreissparkasse opens after sprinkling!

After almost a year of uncertainty and destruction, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel for the customers of the Kreissparkasse Diepholz in Groß Mackenstedt! On Friday, November 15th, the branch will open its doors again, but with a big drop of bitterness: money withdrawals are not possible for the time being. The reason? The new service cube, which was already delivered in August, is not yet equipped with an ATM. According to the KSK spokesman Dennis Landt, this is expected to do so until the beginning of 2025 because there are delivery difficulties.

The branch had been closed on February 1 of this year after the devastating blasting of the ATM. The explosion left massive damage: glass doors broke and the traces of the devastation are still visible. The three employees had to move to the Heiligenrode office in order to continue to be there for customers. But that is not the only challenge with which the KSK was confronted. Water damage in the basement, where the lockers are housed, additionally delayed the renovation work. "The building is from 1993, if you are already there, you make one or the other wall chic," explains Marc Lange, head of the KSK advisory center Heiligenrode.

New security standard and fresh wind

Those responsible have decided to place the ATM in front of the building in the future to increase security. This means that money traffic is now completely outsourced, which creates more space for customer advice. Michael Horn, KSK area manager North, emphasizes the great effort that is operated to ensure security. Even if the machine is put into operation at some point, the exact opening times are still determined. However, deposits are possible, but only in seems.

With the new branch manager Stephanie Röpe at the top, Groß Mackenstedt is brought back to life. The demand for the reopening was enormous, and the KSK has already informed 600 households about the restart. From Friday, the employees will be available for consulting appointments, and the opening times are clearly defined: Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and also on Monday and Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Fridays, customers can come by from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The return to normality has started, even if the ATM is still a long time coming!
