Tomic returns: emotional duel between the dehids and Atlas!

Rehden, Deutschland - An emotional reunion is imminent! Josip Tomic, the long -time captain of SV Rehden, returns to the square where he played for many years on Saturday with his new team, Atlas Delmenhorst. The 31-year-old will enter the catacombs of the Rehden forest sports facilities and has to reorient himself-instead of the home cabin, he now goes to the guests. "It tingles in the stomach," admits Tomic before the excited duel at 2 p.m. After eight and a half years at Rehden, he made the move to Atlas in summer to save himself constant driving.

Rehden fights with personnel problems

The signs for the game are anything but ideal for the dehyles. Coach Kristian Arambasic has to do without several players, including Nestor Djengoue, Noah Wallenßus, Nick Kaperckon and Eric Anozie. The situation is tense with only 14 available players. Striker Niklas Burlage, who last shone with a winning goal against Hildesheim and an impressive 17-0 test game victory, urges a place in the starting eleven. Despite the challenges, Tomic is optimistic: "The series suggests that the team has found itself."

a special souvenir

In order to keep the memories of his time at Rehden, Tomic hung his framed rehod jersey at an honorary place in his living room in Delmenhorst. The jersey he received when he said goodbye is given the signatures of his former teammates. Even after his change, Tomic did not stop contact with his old companions. He particularly maintains regular exchange for Lovro Sindik and trainer Arambasic. "After the game, I like to invite him to a beer - but only if we win," jokes Arambasic.

The memories of the bitter 1: 5 defeat in the first leg are still fresh, and Tomic is certain: "Nuances will now decide." If he scores a goal, he will be happy, but will not cheer out of respect for his former club. The tension increases when the two teams meet - a game full of emotions and memories!
