The "Queen Elizabeth" needed extensive preparations for the passage across the Elbe, since its massive format takes up a lot of space in the fairway and you are not allowed to meet larger ships.

Spectators held the spectacle with their cell phone cameras while the Royal Navy in Hamburg gave a rare guest appearance. The last visit to a British aircraft carrier in the Hanseatic city was 13 years ago when the "Ark Royal" set up there. The "Queen Elizabeth" will linger in Hamburg for a week and take part in a NATO exercise-an event that enriches the maritime history of the Region.
