In the district of Cuxhaven, it rumbled tremendously: On October 21 and 22, 2024, the Geestland police carried out strict traffic controls, and the results were shocking! A total of 230 vehicles were checked, and alarming facts came to light, which strongly question security on the streets.

The police were on the road with a clear mission: to identify drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It was found that the consumption of drugs and alcohol is one of the main causes of devastating traffic accidents. A total of 244 people had to hand in their driver's license, with five drivers being immediately stopped due to serious violations. In a particularly blatant case, a 35-year-old Bremerhaven was noticed: he had almost 1.6 per thousand and presented a presumably fake driver's license. Incredible!

In addition, the officials came across further worrying situations: a 38-year-old man from Bremerhaven had over 0.5 per thousand in her blood. But that's not all! Two other drivers, 30 and 45 years old, were discovered under the influence of drugs. And then there was the 43-year-old who was illegally traveling with a trailer because he lacked the necessary driving license! The police do not give up - all drivers now have to expect hard punishments. There were blood samples, and already with similar controls in northern Germany it was shown that every 13th driver was under the influence of drugs. That arouses concern!
