Large traffic control in Cuxhaven: drunk, drugs and arrest warrants

Dedesdorf, Deutschland - On Friday evening, October 11, 2024, the police commissioner Schiffdorf, together with further units, carried out a significant traffic control on federal road 437, near the Wesertunnel towards BAB27. This measure lasted until around 1:00 a.m. and had the goal of fighting crime and the main causes of traffic accidents, especially through alcohol and drug use.

The police were supported by various departments, including the Commissioner Geestland and Nordenham, and the main customs office in Bremen. Particularly noteworthy is the mobile guard, which was provided by the central police department, and the comprehensive lighting of the control point by the technical relief organization from Bremerhaven. The Brake road maintenance department ensured that the control point was properly secured.

numerous violations determined

The control brought a variety of violations to light. Five drivers were traveling without the necessary driving license, with a driver trying to show himself with a fake Polish driving license. Another driver tried to avoid a driving ban by exchanging the place with his passenger, which caused criminal proceedings to be initiated against them too.

In addition, three drivers were under the influence of narcotics; Blood samples were taken from them. In two cases, the officials found small amounts of illegal substances, including amphetamine and cannabis, in the vehicles. In addition, two violations of the weapons law were discovered, in which an unauthorized stimulus sprayer and a forbidden one -hand knife were ensured.

A further focus of control was on technical defects on vehicles. Contributions had been found in two cars that reduced the operating license. The owners were instructed to remedy the defects immediately and demonstrate the vehicles again, otherwise there was a risk of decommissioning. A driver against whom an arrest warrant due to a compensation sentence due to unpaid fines was able to continue his journey through the payment of an off -paying amount.

Customs also determined a tax law violation by the possession of un taxed cigarettes. Particular attention was paid to the self -assurance of the control implementation, which is why it was reduced to a maximum speed of 40 km/h before the control point. Nevertheless, the officers counted 51 speed overruns during control.

A total of over 300 vehicles were checked during control. The police emphasize the importance of such controls to improve traffic safety in order to reduce the number of traffic accidents. The operations managers, Mathias Heiling and Marius Masia, were positive about the willingness to cooperate with road users during the inspection: "We are pleased that almost all road users behaved absolutely cooperatively during the checks and everything went almost non -disruptive."

The police are planning to carry out further controls in the entire Cuxland and on the BAB27 to continue to ensure traffic safety.
