Loud bang in Friesland: Eurofighter exceed sound limit!

Varel, Deutschland - A deafening bang made the residents of Friesland, Wesermarsch, the north of the district of Cloppenburg and even Oldenburg on Wednesday afternoon! What was going on? The answer came quickly: Seven Eurofighter of the Bundeswehr were in the air and caused excitement. The radar evaluation confirmed that at 3:12 p.m. a fighter jet broke through the sound barrier and that a height of 39,200 feet, i.e. about 11,950 meters, reached just 12.4 kilometers from Varel!

"The aircraft of the tactical air force squadron 31 'Boelcke' flew as part of the daily practice and training flight operations," said a spokesman for the Bundeswehr aircraft office. These exercises took place in the reserved airspace "Tra Weser".
