Scandal around AfD boss Schledde: Money for list places? Court decides!

In the center of an explosive legal dispute is Ansgar Schledde, the controversial head of state of the AfD in Lower Saxony. Schledde is faced with severe allegations, which was raised by a former party comrades, Christopher Emden. Emden claims that Schledde has asked for promising list places, which led to an appeal procedure at the Higher Regional Court in Celle. But the procedure began without Emden, which was absent for health reasons. The presiding judge expressed concerns about the frequency of his absences and continued the questioning of the witnesses.

shocking allegations about list places and "pseudo-employed"

Another witness, a former AfD district chairman, made even more explosive accusations. At a dinner in Hanover, Schledde is said to have offered him a place on the list for the European elections 2024 - in return for the assurance of employing people who would not really work. These "pseudo-employees" should be paid for with funds from the personnel fund of the EU MPs. In addition, Schledde is accused of having urged a member of the state parliament to issue a wrong certificate for weapon law approval in order to legitimize his hunting participation - also here in exchange for a list place.

Financial machinations and the "war treasury"

The allegations against Schledde are not new. Even before the 2022 state election, Emden claimed that it was possible in the AfD to pay for promising list places. He himself received an offer of over 4,000 euros to get support for the state election. Research show that several AfD politicians have paid more than 40,000 euros into Schleddes account, but Schledde and his supporters claim that these are lies. After the negotiation on Wednesday, Schledde rejected the allegations as "nonsense" and showed calmly to the upcoming judgment of the Higher Regional Court, which was expected to be in his favor due to the absence of Emden.
