Celle, Deutschland - In Celle, an important security project was launched to protect the smallest of our society! In a great cooperation, the Celle traffic watch and the Celle police inspection handed over bright yellow warning vests to the first graders of the Catholic primary school. On Monday, October 24, 2024, the handover started with the frog class and marked the beginning of an initiative for around 2,400 respiratory protection vests in the district. Also invited were important personalities such as Jochen Rodenwaldt, the 1st chairwoman of the traffic watch, and Anja Heins, the traffic safety consultant of the police.

Especially in early darkness, when children are on their way to school, visibility is often severely restricted. Dark clothing, rain and fog can make this situation even more dangerous. Drivers are asked to adapt their speed and to drive carefully at schools, kindergartens and other educational institutions. Children are unpredictable and can suddenly run on the street, so it is necessary to be attentive and considerate!

The handover of the warning vests is not just a simple measure - it is an essential step to strengthen awareness of safe behavior in road traffic. But with that alone it is not enough: all road users have to help keep the streets in this dark season, because the safety of all children is important to us!
