In a gripping Oberliga duel, the USI Lupo Martini Wolfsburg fought a dramatic 2-2 draw against MTV Eintracht Celle! Despite a deficit and an unfortunate own goal, the Wolfsburgers once again demonstrated their unshakable resistance. The decisive compensation fell in added time when Robert Herrmann converted a penalty -cold and thus saved the important point.

The game began rather behavior until the hosts took the lead in the 32nd minute through Alexander Laube. A quick pages after a throw -in brought the ball into the penalty area, where arbor scored 1-0. But the Wolfsburgers could not be asked for long: just two minutes later, Robert Herrmann transformed a penalty to 1-1 and ensured new swing in the game. In the 82nd minute, however, Lupo fell behind again when a shot from keeper Direnc Güven hit Dennis Dubiel unhappily and landed into his own network. "Such goals happen when you are in the table at the bottom," commented Gritli. But the Wolfsburgers did not give up and switched to offensive in the final minutes.

In injury time there was a decisive scene: a Celler defender clarified on the goal line, which led to the red card for Valentin von Behr and a penalty. Robert Herrmann started again and converted to 2-2 in the 93rd minute. He not only secured the point, but also ensured cheering among the 250 spectators. In addition, there was gratifying news for the Wolfsburgers: head coach Michele Rizzi returned after ten weeks of absence, and Lasse Homann celebrated his comeback after a long injury. "Not lost two games in a row - we take the positive and want to carry this energy into the next game," said Gritli.
