Wiesmoor, Deutschland - The Fahrschule Hornung GmbH is bankrupt! This shocking message hit the learner students hard in Wiesmoor. Your hard -earned down payments are frozen and a refund seems to be a long way off. Wolfgang Doden, an experienced driving instructor, learned about the bankruptcy from the parents of his students and not from his former boss. "That annoyed me very much," admits the 53-year-old, who worked for a decade in Hornung. While he comes out of bankruptcy without financial losses, it looks dark for his students.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel! The Verkehrsakademie Ostfriesland plans to open a new branch in Wiesmoor as soon as possible. Owner Martin Fokken already has several driving schools in the region and is optimistic. "I have talks with the landlord this week," he reports. Doden is expected to continue working at the same location and hopes that other driving instructors can also be hired to cover the need.

The bankruptcy of Hornung GmbH was carried out by insolvency administrator Christian Hanken from Wittmund and the driving school is not continued. The former students paid up to 3500 euros in advance, but the repayment remains uncertain. "The chances of getting all the money back are bad," warns lawyer Till Hanken. Students can submit their claims to the insolvency administrator, but the procedure could take years. Meanwhile, Doden offers the students to switch to the new driving school - but with new contracts. He has already convinced 40 students and is happy about 13 new registrations. "I want to help the young people to pass the driver's license with as few driving hours as possible," he says.
