Münsing's citizens' meeting: record visit and big challenges!

Münsing, Deutschland - The citizens' meeting in Münsing was a complete success! The new pallaufaal burst at the seams when Mayor Michael Grasl presented his pressing topics. The citizens were so numerous that additional chairs had to be set up. This shows how much the people in the community are interested - and rightly so, because the challenges that are in front of them are enormous!

Grasl spoke of a “financial turnaround” that Münsing will meet in 2026. The reserves are used up and the municipality is faced with impending debts of around 9.6 million euros. This financial burden results from costly projects such as the new community center, the fire station and the drinking water tank. In addition, urgently needed renovation measures are pending at the Old Town Hall in order to be able to use the neighboring primary school for all -day care from 2026. A new kindergarten building in Holzhausen and the conversion of the community hall into a crèche are also on the agenda.

Another hot topic was the failed KWA senior living foundation in Ambach. Grasl commented disappointed about the "missed opportunity" and criticized the poor communication of the board of trustees in old age. The community particularly hurts the loss of the day care facility. Grasl suggested buying the area to get the green meadow, although he had previously excluded such an option. However, a solution for the urgently needed day care for relatives will be difficult in the coming years, since the community is currently unable to create or operate such an institution.

The meeting also brought up the topics of traffic calming and renewable energies. Suggestions for crosswalks, speed limits and other measures were presented. In addition, the status of the photovoltaic systems was informed, the municipality hoping for an early commissioning. The citizens are excited to see how the situation will develop, because the challenges are great and the time is pushing!
