Hannover. In the exciting competition for the Lower Saxony State Garden Show 2030, two candidates are now in the starting blocks! Duderstadt and Bad Zwischenahn have expressed their interest and are about to take the big showdown.

With the application deadline that ends on November 1st, it could be tight for other cities. So far, however, no official applications have been received. The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Agriculture remains optimistic: "It remains to be seen which municipalities have been applying for the organization of the Lower Saxony State Garden Show 2030." At Bad Zwischenahn you can look back on the past, because the first state garden show took place here in 2002. Duderstadt was hosting the state exhibition in 1994 in the urban development and can also refer to a glamorous garden show history.

The final decision on the organizer is made by the state government in the first quarter of 2025. An evaluating committee of the Ministry of Agriculture will examine the applications in detail and make a recommendation. In order to support the event financially, the country provides up to six million euros. Of these funds, five million are intended for investments, and up to one million euros can be used to bridge a financing gap.

The next state garden show will take place from April 29 to October 18, 2026 in Bad Nenndorf under the motto "Here blooms diversity". Here the construction costs are set to a proud 34 million euros - an impressive sum that demonstrates how high the demands on such an important event are.
