New construction of the Krebsgrabenbrücke: Provisional relieves Jettingen-Scheppach!
After the devastating flood in June, which caused massive damage in the Günzburg district, the Situation for residents in Jettingen-Scheppach is tense. The cancer trench bridge was so badly damaged that a repair is excluded. Instead, a complete new building will be necessary, the construction work of which should begin next year. But the urgency of the transport connection did not leave those responsible inactive: a provisional bypass was built in a flash to secure the flow of traffic.
District Administrator Hans Reichhart praised the quick implementation of this measure: "We have created an important relief for our citizens here, since the long detour route is now eliminated, even during the construction of the new bridge over the cancer." The bypass was realized within one month by the Georg Kranzfeld construction company from Zusmarshausen and costs around 200,000 euros, of which the Free State of Bavaria takes over 80 percent. This quick reaction shows how important the restoration of the infrastructure is after the flood.
Fast solution for Jettingen-Scheppach
The member of the state parliament Jenny Schack emphasized the high priority of infrastructure recovery: "This is how the Schönenberg district is again connected to its market town." This provisional bypass is not just a temporary solution, but a sign of the tireless use of the authorities in order to restore the quality of life of the citizens as quickly as possible. The residents can breathe a sigh of relief while the construction work for the new bridge is planned in the future.
