More than half of the Germans now use artificial intelligence!

The revolution of artificial intelligence has grasped Germany! Two years after the introduction of Chatgpt, more than half of the over 16-year-olds use generative AI tools in Germany. A current Forsa survey on behalf of the TÜV association shows that 53 percent of the respondents are already using these technologies. This is a dramatic increase compared to the previous year: in October 2023 it was only 37 percent, and in April 2023, shortly after the start of Chatgpt, only 23 percent!

The numbers speak for themselves: A quarter of the AI ​​users use the tools every day or several times a week. They use 34 percent at least once a month. But what do the Germans do with these technologies? Half of the users use AI to correctly write texts, while 48 percent use them for research purposes. Creative applications are also popular: 36 percent use AI to find ideas, and 24 percent create pictures and videos. But despite this positive use, there are concerns: Almost half of the users hardly or not trust the correctness of the results.

Opinions on the effects of AI technology are split. While 61 percent believe that AI can support in private and 59 percent in professional life, 76 percent see the risks as difficult to assess. In view of the Bundestag election, Joachim Bühler, managing director of the TÜV association, demands that the parties should draw up clear rules for the use of AI and mark AI generated election advertising.
